"Women in the Industrial World" at the Cement Museum

The Mayor of Castellar de n’Hug, Salvador Juncà, and the Director of the Museum of Science and Technology of Catalonia (mNACTEC), Jaume Perarnau, will be on hand at 12 noon next Saturday, 25 July, for the formal opening of the exhibition "Women in the Industrial World" at the Asland Cement Museum in Castellar de n’Hug.

The exhibition "women in the industrial world" presents the impact and importance of women in the process of industrialising Catalonia. The displays describe the living and working conditions of women in the industrial society and their role in creating industrial labour and working class markets. The exhibition reveals the role of women in industrial society using various resources: texts, photos, videos, statistical data, brochures, etc.

The exhibition, promoted by the Museum Service of the Department of Culture, in partnership with the mNACTEC Territorial Structure, will be open from 29 January to 15 June 2015 at the Museum of Science and Technology of Catalonia (mNACTEC), and will be travelling around the 26 museums belonging to the mNACTEC Territorial Structure, along with other museums and cultural venues in Catalonia.
