The Water that Satisfies Hunger

The exhibition "The Water that Satisfies Hunger" aims to go a little further in showing the scale of the importance of the presence and preservation of water

From October, 11 2011 to April, 29 2012

The exhibition "The Water that Satisfies Hunger" aims to go a little further in showing the scale of the importance of the presence and preservation of water, allowing us, as individuals, to see how by acting correctly we can achieve sustainable management of this vital resource.

The main goal of the exhibition is to reveal the importance of applying sustainable water management, as one part of the capacities required in order to guarantee the productivity of the land, both at the urban and the rural level, and on different scales (local, regional, etc.), as well as its importance in reducing vulnerability to the climatic and environmental threats faced by communities.

The exhibition has been organised by the MNACTEC together with AquaSost (the Sustainable Water Management Group), of the UNESCO Chair of Sustainability at the UPC (Technical University of Catalonia), Action Against Hunger, the Museum of Science and Technology of Catalonia and Terrassa City Council (Department of Solidarity and International Corporation).

Areas:

  1. Water for life
  2. Water crisis
  3. Sustainable water management
  4. Water and food self-sufficiency
  5. Case studies: The socio-environmental transformation of Morro de Moràvia in Medellín, Colombia, and sustainable sanitation and reuse of regenerated water in the semi-arid north-east of Brazil.
