Radio MNACTEC

For over a century, the radio has kept us company, kept us informed, and entertained us. Throughout its history this technology has adapted to social change and technological innovation, becoming an indispensable medium for many people. The “Radio MNACTEC" space aims to reveal the thrilling world of radio through a realistic and functional examination.

The new MNACTEC space hosts studio 17 for Catalunya Ràdio, making it possible to make recordings and live broadcasts. In this space visitors will learn how a present-day radio studio works.

The space is complemented with a small exhibition on the evolution of radio from the late 19th century to the present. It provides an overview of the milestones of its history, the major technological evolution in the world of telecommunications, and the impact of this medium on society. A display showing 10 objects from the MNACTEC collection which reflect the evolution of radio can be visited.

Equally, Ràdio MNACTEC aims to be a tool for the diversification of the museum contents, offering new permanent didactic and scientific-technological activities.
